SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Worship Service \nOctober 30th\, 2022 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm PDT \nWard Memorial Baptist Church\, 465 Kamloops St. Vancouver\, BC V5K 3V2 \n“My House will be called A House of Prayer For all Nations”  Isaiah 56:7 ~ Mark 11:17 \nChurch Office                                              604 255 3949 \nSnr. Pastor Jusuf Wijaya                            604 724-1158 \nG&I Shining Stars Youth Society              604 307-9237 \nAssoc. Pastor Gary Hockridge                  604 255-6242 \nYouth Pastor: Jeremy Kwan                     613-316-8975 \nChurch Moderator: Chris Lim                  604-722-1800  \n\nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading: Ephesians 4:1-16 \n\n\n\n\nAs a prisoner for the Lord\, then\, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient\, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit\, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord\, one faith\, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all\, who is over all and through all and in all. \n7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. 8 This is why it[a] says: \n\n“When he ascended on high\,\n    he took many captives\n    and gave gifts to his people.”[b] \n\n9 (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower\, earthly regions[c]? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens\, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles\, the prophets\, the evangelists\, the pastors and teachers\, 12 to equip his people for works of service\, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature\, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. \n14 Then we will no longer be infants\, tossed back and forth by the waves\, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead\, speaking the truth in love\, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head\, that is\, Christ. 16 From him the whole body\, joined and held together by every supporting ligament\, grows and builds itself up in love\, as each part does its work. \n\n\nPraise and Worship Contd. \nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nMessage: “United in the body of Christ” by  Pastor Jusuf Wijaya. \nBenediction \nAnnouncements\nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. \nWMBC is… \n(Vision Statement) “Making God known by sharing the Love of Christ.” \n(Mission Statement)“Transformation”- Romans 12:2 (Vision Statement) \n– All are welcome at WMBC \nPrayer Sessions: Time –Wednesday: 7:00-8:30 p.m.; Sundays: 9:45 a.m. \nLIVE STREAMING OF WMBC SERVICES WILL BE ON SUNDAYS @ 10:30 A.M.  https://wmbaptistchurch.ca In-person church services commence at 10:30 a.m. Invite families and friends. \nESL Classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays\, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in downstairs Fellowship Hall.\nInterested Volunteer teachers\, contact Yvonne. \nCelebration Zone on-site October – 30. \nThanks to all those who helped with the mini- Mystery evening for Kids last Thursday. \nTeaser: Those interested in participating in Christmas Play for December 18\, (actors\,vocals\,instruments\, set design\, audio visuals etc.)\, Consider praying about your participation.\nMore details\, next Sunday. \nCovid-19 Precautions \nPray without ceasing\, continue to be diligent.\nStay home\, especially if showing symptoms.\nWash hands frequently with soap and water!!!\nSanitize hands and surfaces.\nWear masks; still consider others ( if in enclosed areas ) \nOctober 30th SUNDAY EVENING SERVICE @ 5:00-6:15 P.M. He turned around in the crowd and asked\, “Who touched my clothes?” \n31 “You see the people crowding against you\,” his disciples answered\, “and yet you can ask\, ‘Who touched me?’ ” \n32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman\, knowing what had happened to her\, came and fell at his feet and\, trembling with fear\, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her\, “Daughter\, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” \nPraise and worship contd. \nMessage: “Who is Jesus!” by Pastor Jusuf Wijaya.  \nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \n \n  \n  \nChristmas box deadline for collection is November 13. In love 5 he[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ\, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace\, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood\, the forgiveness of sins\, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding\, 9 he[d] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure\, which he purposed in Christ\, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. \n11 In him we were also chosen\,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will\, 12 in order that we\, who were the first to put our hope in Christ\, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth\, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed\, you were marked in him with a seal\, the promised Holy Spirit\, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. \nPraise and Worship Contd. \nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nMessage: “The Faithful in Christ” by  Ps.Jusuf Wijaya. \nBenediction \nAnnouncements \nDedication of baby Noah Cyril by Ps.Jusuf Wijaya \nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. So when he sees the wolf coming\, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. \n14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice\, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me\, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” \n\nPraise and Worship Contd. \nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nMessage: “The Good Shepherd” by  Pastor Gary. \nBenediction \nAnnouncements \nOutdoor Worship & Annual Picnic -Sept 4th\, 2022 \nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. AT WMBC. \nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading: John 21:4-14 \n4 Early in the morning\, Jesus stood on the shore\, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. \n5 He called out to them\, “Friends\, haven’t you any fish?” \n“No\,” they answered. \n6 He said\, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did\, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. \n7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter\, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say\, “It is the Lord\,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples followed in the boat\, towing the net full of fish\, for they were not far from shore\, about a hundred yards.[a] 9 When they landed\, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it\, and some bread. \n10 Jesus said to them\, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish\, 153\, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them\, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him\, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came\, took the bread and gave it to them\, and did the same with the fish. 14 This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead. \nSpeaker:  Pastor Gary \nMessage Title – “Breakfast on the Beach” \nCell Groups: \n-Gary Hockridge and Hercules Tupas\, E. He went down to Joppa\, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare\, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord. \n4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea\, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. \nBut Jonah had gone below deck\, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. 6 The captain went to him and said\, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.” \n7 Then the sailors said to each other\, “Come\, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity.” They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. 8 So they asked him\, “Tell us\, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” \n9 He answered\, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the Lord\, the God of heaven\, who made the sea and the dry land.” \n10 This terrified them and they asked\, “What have you done?” (They knew he was running away from the Lord\, because he had already told them so.) \n11 The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him\, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?” \n12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea\,” he replied\, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.” \n13 Instead\, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not\, for the sea grew even wilder than before. 14 Then they cried out to the Lord\, “Please\, Lord\, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man\, for you\, Lord\, have done as you pleased.” 15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard\, and the raging sea grew calm. 16 At this the men greatly feared the Lord\, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows to him. \nJonah’s Prayer\n17 Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah\, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. \n  \nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nPraise and Worship Contd. \nMessage by  Pastor Jeanry Ecraela \nMessage Title – “Running Away from GOD” \nJonah 1:1-17 \nBenediction \nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. \nANNOUNCEMENTS \nLIVE STREAMING OF WMBC SERVICES WILL BE ON SUNDAYS @ 10:30 A.M. AT WMBC. \nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading: Luke 24:12-35 \n\n12 Peter\, however\, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over\, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves\, and he went away\, wondering to himself what had happened. \nOn the Road to Emmaus\n13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus\, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other\, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him. \n17 He asked them\, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” \nThey stood still\, their faces downcast. 18 One of them\, named Cleopas\, asked him\, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” \n19 “What things?” he asked. \n“About Jesus of Nazareth\,” they replied. “He was a prophet\, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death\, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more\, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition\, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels\, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said\, but they did not see Jesus.” \n25 He said to them\, “How foolish you are\, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets\, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. \n28 As they approached the village to which they were going\, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly\, “Stay with us\, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. \n30 When he was at the table with them\, he took bread\, gave thanks\, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him\, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other\, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” \n33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them\, assembled together 34 and saying\, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way\, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread. \n\n\nSpeaker:  Pastor Gary Hockridge \nMessage Title – “ WHAT IS HAPPENING?” \nScripture Reading: Luke 24:12-35 \nCell Groups: \n-Gary Hockridge and Hercules Tupas\, E. AT WMBC. \nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading: Jude 3-16  \n\nThe Sin and Doom of Ungodly People\n3 Dear friends\, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share\, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about[a] long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people\, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. \n5 Though you already know all this\, I want to remind you that the Lord[b] at one time delivered his people out of Egypt\, but later destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness\, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. 7 In a similar way\, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. \n8 In the very same way\, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies\, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. 9 But even the archangel Michael\, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses\, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said\, “The Lord rebuke you!”[c] 10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand\, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them. \n11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion. \n12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts\, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain\, blown along by the wind; autumn trees\, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea\, foaming up their shame; wandering stars\, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. \n14 Enoch\, the seventh from Adam\, prophesied about them: “See\, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone\, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness\, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”[d] 16 These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. \nSpeaker:  Pastor Gary Hockridge \nMessage Title – “Judgment Assured” \nLuke 15:11–32 \nCell Groups: \n-Gary Hockridge and Hercules Tupas\, E. AT WMBC. \nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading: Luke 15:11–32 \n\nThe Parable of the Lost Son\n11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father\, ‘Father\, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. \n13 “Not long after that\, the younger son got together all he had\, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything\, there was a severe famine in that whole country\, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country\, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating\, but no one gave him anything. \n17 “When he came to his senses\, he said\, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare\, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father\, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father. \n“But while he was still a long way off\, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son\, threw his arms around him and kissed him. \n21 “The son said to him\, ‘Father\, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ \n22 “But the father said to his servants\, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. \n25 “Meanwhile\, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house\, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come\,’ he replied\, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ \n28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father\, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home\, you kill the fattened calf for him!’ \n31 “‘My son\,’ the father said\, ‘you are always with me\, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad\, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” \n\nSpeaker:  Pastor Gary Hockridge \nMessage Title – “A Father’s Heart” \nLuke 15:11–32 \nCell Groups: \n-Gary Hockridge and Hercules Tupas\, E. Pastor Gary Hockridge                  604 255-6242 \n Youth Pastor: Jeremy Kwan                       613-316-8975 \n  Church Moderator: Chris Lim                     604-722-1800  \n\nOpening Prayer/Welcome/Announcements/Worship/Praise: Worship Team \nScripture Reading:  3 John 1:1-14 \n1 The elder\, \nTo my dear friend Gaius\, whom I love in the truth. \n2 Dear friend\, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you\, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth\, telling how you continue to walk in it. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. \n5 Dear friend\, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters\,[a] even though they are strangers to you. 6 They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. 7 It was for the sake of the Name that they went out\, receiving no help from the pagans. 8 We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth. \n9 I wrote to the church\, but Diotrephes\, who loves to be first\, will not welcome us. 10 So when I come\, I will call attention to what he is doing\, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that\, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church. \n11 Dear friend\, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him\, and you know that our testimony is true. \n13 I have much to write you\, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon\, and we will talk face to face. \nPeace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name. \n. \nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nPraise and Worship Contd. \nCommunion \nMessage by Pastor Gary Hockridge \nMessage Title – “KEEP THE TRUTH” \n3 John 1:1-14 \nBenediction \nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. \nWMBC is… \n(Vision Statement) “Making God known by sharing the Love of Christ.” \n(Mission Statement)“”Transformation”- Romans 12:2 (Vision Statement) \n– All are welcome at WMBC \nPrayer Sessions: Time –Wednesday: 7:00-8:30 p.m.; Sundays: 9:45 a.m. \nANNOUNCEMENTS \nLIVE STREAMING OF WMBC SERVICES WILL BE ON SUNDAYS @ 10:30 A.M. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin\, and there is sin that does not lead to death. \n18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe\, and the evil one cannot harm them. 19 We know that we are children of God\, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding\, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. \n21 Dear children\, keep yourselves from idols. \n\nGod’s Tithes Our Offering: E-transfer to: wardoffering@gmail.com; questions\, contact Vanessa @ +1 (778) 837-7408\, or vness.lal@gmail.com \nCan also drop off in mail slot at church or send by mail. \nPraise and Worship Contd. \nMessage by Ps.Gary Hockridge \nMessage Title – “WATCH WHAT YOU HEAR” \n1 John 5:13-21 \nBenediction \nBaptism: Speak with Pastor Jusuf if you are interested in baptism. \nWMBC is… \n“Making God known by sharing the Love of Christ.” \n(Mission Statement) \n“Transformation”- Romans 12:2 (Vision Statement) \n– All are welcome at WMBC \nPrayer Sessions: Time –Wednesday: 7:00-8:30 p.m.; Sundays: 9:45 a.m. \nANNOUNCEMENTS \nLIVE STREAMING OF WMBC SERVICES WILL BE ON SUNDAYS @ 10:30 A.M.
