Message: “ Who Will Stand in the Gap” by Joelle Hsu

Evening Service:

Scripture Reading:   Esther 8:1-8

Message: “ Who Will Stand in the Gap” by Joelle Hsu

1   That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came into the presence of the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. The king took off his signet ring, which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman’s estate.

Esther again pleaded with the king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman the Agagite, which he had devised against the Jews. Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him.

“If it pleases the king,” she said, “and if he regards me with favor and thinks it the right thing to do, and if he is pleased with me, let an order be written overruling the dispatches that Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces. For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my family?”

King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have impaled him on the pole he set up. Now write another decree in the king’s name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king’s signet ring—for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”

REMEMBRANCE DAY –  November 11, 2023

 In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. by John  McCrae

“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:12-13

We invite you to Come and Taste His goodness, hear how He’s been leading us and receive what He wants to give us of Himself.

Before offering our 2024 conference in the new year, we felt it was on the Father’s heart to partner with churches to bring “a taste” of what’s coming!

We’re calling this mini conference night “Taste & Receive,” Our desire for this night is to introduce our heart for the 2024 Mission Fest conference and give space for Jesus to move and call people toward His heart.

Dear Lord , grant us hearts of humility, love, discernment, and compassion for all those whom you put in our paths. Although the chaos and atrocities of war, mental anguish from earthquakes and daily struggles bombard our conscious thoughts, let us not be swayed from the purpose you have for us, as declared by Jeremiah, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” ( Jeremiah 29:11).

Colossians 3:15-“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18-“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

As Remembrance Day approaches on November 11, and we remember and honour those men and women who sacrifice their lives for the freedom we sometimes take for granted, let us pray for cessation of current wars and forgiveness to reign in hearts so that true peace can be experienced.
